The Belted Galloway

The Belted Galloway.
High Auchenlarie.

The Belted Galloway breed is a feature of this part of Scotland. Not as common perhaps as other breeds in the area, but very attractive, and worth a trip out to search for them locally. In these vegetarian and vegan days it will not be popular with some readers to say that the beef they produce is marvellous, and a beef casserole made with their meat is wonderful. Tasty, but not tough at all. There is a cottage nearby (no connection) for those interested.
