Carlingwark Loch at Castle Douglas – the photographer’s name is clearly shown. It maybe that endless pictures of frozen scenes are boring, but this is the first “proper” winter we have had for many years, and the sights we are seeing, common in my youth – indeed, expected, in my youth – are now much rarer and thus all the more worth preserving in a small way.
