“Write to your MP”, they say . . .

Alister Jack, MP for Dumfries and Galloway, Secretary of State for Scotland.

I have obeyed the oft repeated injunction to write to your MP. I have written (more accurately, emailed) to this man several times, usually with only an “I am am a very busy man” email as a reply. He keeps a very low profile, is seldom or never seen in local news items, and his Parliamentary contributions seem to be written answers, and always voting as the Conservative Whips tell him to. As a constituency MP he seems to be totally useless. For parliamentary business, Westminster being a non-starter, we rely on the Scottish Parliament and Emma Harper who seems to be indefatigable.

For good or ill therefore I have today emailed him as follows :

  1. Do you now, or have you ever received money or gifts in kind from Russian sources, directly or indirectly ?

If you have so received them, are you taking steps to retrieve their value and donate it to good causes ?

  1. How much money or goods in kind has the Conservative Party received from Russian sources, directly or indirectly ?

What steps is the Conservative Party taking to recover this money and to donate it to good causes ?

  1. How much money or goods in kind have Conservative MPs received from Russian sources, directly or indirectly ?

What steps are these Conservative MPs taking to recover this money and to donate it to good causes ?

I doubt I will get any answer, but if he only talks about it in the House of Commons bar or restaurant it might possibly do some good.
