Kirkdale Bridge

Kirkdale Bridge

How things change, even in one person’s lifetime. This is Kirkdale Bridge on the A75 (between Gatehouse and Carsluith) – actually bypassed by the modern A75, but once an essential part of it. We travelled this way (in an Austin Mini) in the early 60s and stayed in Glenluce. So we must have passed over this bridge. Now disused it crosses the Kirkdale Burn as it always did and the roadway disappears into a thicket.
